Family Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

 This is the Brooks Family. This was my 6th shoot with them. My first was Ava's newborn session and now she is FOUR! It sure was nice to have some sunshine, I have missed the sun - but enjoyed the rain - hated the hail! But May showers apparently bring June flowers... and these ones just happen to be Ava's favorite color, who doesn't like purple?! Ella only cared that mom be with her... sorry dad, we tried! (Trust me, you will all left about it one day!) I was fan off the bright colors, they really made these photos POP! Well, Amy, I hope you LOVE them! Do I have to use the photographer my school is recommending for my Senior Photos?

So, Douglas County High School just announced that they would be using "a specific photographer" for their senior photos. Which has got some of you panicking, thinking you need to cancel your sessions and book with this other photographer. So let me explain. 

First, take a deep breath. You don't need to cancel anything. DCHS is just saying that they are using a single sourced photographer for their yearbook images. That's it. Your images the ones you will hang on your wall the ones you will share with friends and family, those can be taken by any photographer you would like. 

Now will this photographer try to get you to book with them exclusively of course. Will they promise you discounts yes, but on a VERY expensive product, but you have no obligation to use them for anything other than the yearbook image. Just let them know up front you just want the year book image and that's it. In fact, they may even have an option to have the photo done at school free of charge. So, be sure to ask about that! 

One really big plus... now you can have your pictures take whenever you would like with out worrying about yearbook deadlines! Now... enjoy a look at Meghan's beautiful photos!

Senior Pictures in Castle Rock, CO

The day I had my senior pictures taken, my best friend had a total meltdown. There was no way I could leave her side in her desperate time of need. I am sure it was something really tragic like Scott asking Heather to the prom instead of her!! At any rate, I got home with just enough time to grab a couple of outfits and rush out the door to a studio on S. Broadway. Faux bookcases and leather wing-backed chairs served as the backdrop. There was no time to freshen my morning application of make-up or redo my hair and it shows. A day etched in my memory never to be forgotten as the photo hung proudly in my parents house until the day they went home to be with Jesus. My mom probably asked if she could bring those photos with her to adorn her new mansion in the sky!! 

Senior photos are pictures that carve out a special place on the wall for years and years! Speaking from personal experience take the time to find a great photographer who will capture the essence of who you are and who will give you timeless photos that you will love forever! And take the time to pick out clothes you love with just right accessories and give yourself plenty of time to get ready! Senior Photographer in Castle Rock, Co

Summers in Colorado are known for their afternoon thunderstorms. While I am not a fan of morning shoots for families, I am a fan when you are working with one individual (Senior, Career or Kids). Morning sessions are perfect for senior guys! Girls can be a bit more challenging when it comes to getting makeup and hair done early in the morning. But guys can be up and ready to start shooting in no time! Plus the mornings are great temperature wise! So if you are looking to book a senior shoot in the months of June, July or even August consider choosing a morning session (but... you will want to choose a photographer with a good understanding of shooting in full sun ; ) - like me!
