Castle Rock, CO Children's Photographer

Well, this is going to be quick.  It's a busy week making preparation to leave town on Thursday... more about that in a minute.  But first... Ava!  Oh her eyes!!  I have had the distinct honor of taking Ava's pictures for the couple of years and I am always lured in by her beautiful eyes (look out boys!! she is going to have you wrapped around her little finger!).  We met this evening for a quick shoot to commemorate her 8th birthday!  The clouds were dark overhead about we gotter done before the rain started to fall (Yippee!!).  Well, I wanted to be sure to get her sneak peek up before we leave, I have one more shoot tomorrow night but that sneak peek will probably have to wait until we return.

So where are we going?  Indiana.  My husband is from there and we are going back to spend some time lovin' on his great niece, Caitlyn.  Two months ago, Caitlyn was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA 1).  Currently there is no cure for SMA and so we are all praying for a miracle.  I am looking forward to taking some pictures of Caitlyn and her family during our visit and hope to be able to share them with you when we return.  In the meantime, I know that Carly and Ryan (mommy and daddy) would covet your prayers for their family.  Until next week. Senior Pictures In Highlands Ranch, CO

Hello!!!  Fancy me here on a Sunday night!  Yesterday I was at Summerfest all the live long day and I just couldn't make Meredith wait another day to see her sneak peek from Friday night.  So, here I am on a Sunday.  I really enjoyed my time with Meredith, she was super low key and by the end of her shoot I think I had won her over, she said that she wasn't really that excited about having her pictures done but that it really was fun (that made me super happy!!).  Well, I gotta run, time to get the kiddos off to bed for the night.  I'll see you again on Tuesday!!  Cija

Holy Cow it's 1:00!!!  Where in the world did the morning go?  I seriously thought it was like 11:00 or so.    Well, I guess the means I better switch into high gear, this is Chandler and he is a 2012 senior at Rock Canyon High School.  He used to be a soccer player but he gave it up so he could buy a car, I guy after my own heart!!  My senior year of high school I had a Fiat Spider Convertible it was FABULOUS!  I just love cars... imagine the torture of driving a mini van!!  Any who, as for next year he's still sifting thru his options but he hopes to stay local and possibly study architecture.  I had a lot of fun working with Chandler, I wish you could see all his film... what he can do with his eyes!!
Well, I am off to find birthday present for Melia's sleep over tonight!
Until next time, Cija

Do you have a Dream?

Yesterday after a very "stressful" week (stressful for my pampered little life) I finally carved some time out to sit down with my Bible and spend some time just meeting with God.  Two hours flew by and as always, I was blown away with how different I felt.  I had tap into the same power that raise Jesus from the dead and I could feel it.  As I sat down to start my work day, I started through my email box.  One of the emails waiting to be read was my daily devotion from Proverbs 31.  OH.... it was a good one!  She had recently visited The Dream Center in LA, CA.  Let me share some bits and pieces of what Lysa TerKeurst  had to say.

"The Dream Center is a converted hospital run by Pastor Matthew Barnett and his church, Angelus Temple. It is a 700 bed facility that is a homeless shelter, a drug rehab, a healing place for those rescued from sex trafficking, an education facility and a ministry hub for over 120 outreach programs to help people in need...

Only lavish abandon to God can do what I saw at the Dream Center.
It’s what changed the ex-gang member with eight bullet hole scars into a Jesus loving servant. So gentle.
It’s what changed the ex-prostitute into a counselor for girls being rescued from the streets. So pure.
It’s what changed the ex-drug addict into a loving father teaching his son how to be a godly leader. So integrity filled.
So, I asked Pastor Matthew—a man who lives this lavish abandon, “Aren’t you afraid sometimes? You run a facility where you have to raise half-million dollars a month—a MONTH! Do you walk around with the weight of that on you all the time?”
And his answer cracked my heart wide open. “No. When you experience God the way I’ve been experiencing God for 17 years, you stop being afraid. I’ve seen too many miracles.”
Pastor Matthew lives our key verse from Isaiah 58:10. He spends himself in behalf of the hungry and oppressed. And honest to goodness I’ve never seen someone so happy, so positive, so on fire for the things of God. Like our verse, his light rises in the darkness.
He sees the miracles therefore he dares to be part of them.
If I truly want to be a woman who lives by faith, I must live a life that requires a little bit of faith."

That last line hit me, I pray all the time to be a woman of faith and that I can live a life with out fear.  I love what Pastor Matthew said, he's not afraid because he has "experienced God".  I want to experience God!!
Today she had a follow up to yesterday's devotion with a tangible and super easy way to do something to help make a difference for these people, to let them know that Jesus loves them.    If you are looking for a way to make a difference here's one idea. http://lysaterkeurst.com/2011/08/helping-the-dream-center/ (it's as simple as writing a letter and buying a gift card).  There are tons of ministries out there that need help and support, find one that pricks your heart and do something!!  We can make a difference!  You can make a difference... I can make a difference!

Senior Pictures In Lonetree, Colorado

Phew! I am catching in up!!  Part stayin' up late last night and part Tammy's baby beating us to the punch and forcing us to cancel her mommy's belly shoot!
So... Tuesday night I was with Lexi for her senior pictures, she is a 2012 Senior at Grandview High School.  I love when I asked her if she had any plans for next year and she said "Honestly, I am just scared to death, I'm not ready to be away from home."  Does a mama's heart good to hear a teenage girl say she's not ready to leave home.  Well, I must be off!  Enjoy your Thursday! Children's Photographer in Parker, CO

Ya know, I feel so blessed and overwhelmed with how the Lord has blessed my photography business.  It's hard to imagine that this girl that just loves to take pictures is being loved on by so many wonderful customers!  Yesterday morning, I was buzzing' around in a golf cart at the Pinery Golf Course with Steve and Heather.  It's a perk of Steve's super cool job at the course.  When I strike it rich, I am definitely buying a golf cart the amount of joy they bring to me is just craziness!!  The occasion was to collect memories of Tristan's 2nd birthday and Tyler's 4 month.  I just love these sweet boys,  Tristan is so deep and thoughtful while Tyler is just a pile of giggles!
Well, I am going to wrap this up and start working on Lexi's sneak peek.  See you again soon. Cija

Senior Pictures in Littleton, CO

Your are going to find me here a lot this week!  It' a jam packed week of shoots, babies and seniors seem to be the flavor of the week.  Last night I met up with Max, a 2012 senior at Chatfield High School, if we had stayed in Littleton, Chatfield is the same high school my girlies would have gone too.  So Max is not sure what he plans to do next year quite yet, but he still has lots of time so for now he is concentrating on skateboarding; he's no poser he's a ripper for sure.  Okay, so I was going to do this whole skateboarder lingo section but seeing how the whole "poser"/"ripper" portion of my sentence went I'm not sure it's a really good idea.
So it's back to work for me and then Snickers and I are heading to school for show and tell!  Ryanne is the "Amazing Person of the Week"!!
Be back soon! Cija
