Family Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

I wish I could make these horizontal pictures bigger on the blog... because I just LOVE little Elijah poking his head over his daddy's shoulder!!! Oh my goodness, so stinkin' cute!!!
Originally, Mindy booked this session to capture Elijah's 6 month milestone, but the February cold and snow forced a reschedule and now Elijah is 7 months old!  And since we were meeting up... why not get some shots of the whole family?  Well, I can't think of a reason.

There's always so much smooching at my photo shoots... I guess that's not a bad thing, huh?
I need a new picture like this, the last one of Rod and I was before we were married!!  20 years ago! (I balanced my camera on the roof of his Ford Escort)  ah... memories.

I love this shot of the two kiddos together... such sweet smiles.
Ah... and the one below, be still my beating heart, I just love that sweet face!

Just having a little fun, I love how Grace is hangin' on to her pants for dear life.
So, I just got off the phone with the twin's teacher... it's voluntary conference time and I had asked if we needed a conference, she called instead.  Can I ask a question, why is there such a huge emphasis on reading as fast as possible.  Go with me here for a minute... ever listened to a book on tape?  How boring would it be if the person reading it was rushing through it with the only goal being to read it as fast as possible?  Drives me crazy to hear my girls rushing through a story, there is imagination tucked in between those words that needs time to blossom and grow.  I am all for accuracy and fluency but I will take dramatic pauses and emotion over speed any day.   Okay, sorry for the detour.

Well, it's Monday... again and it WINDY AGAIN!!!  Oh the wind, I long for the day when my patio furniture will actually stay on the patio.  Ya know, even though it reeks havoc on my photo shoots I don't hate the wind.  Actually one of my favorite things to do it sit on my back patio late at night, when it's quiet  and the sky is clear, stars everywhere and just let the wind wash over me.  I often tell my girls that I can feel God in the wind.
So by now, you must recognize this handsome fella, it's CLARK!!  My monthly buddy!  Look at him showing off his standing up skills!

Clark brought the whole family along this time for some family shots!   You can't tell in this picture, but holy cow was the snow deep!!  All the way up to my knee!!  I am sure they thought I was plumb crazy dragging them through the snow, I'm sorry I just can't help it!
Love this picture of Ally and Aidan!

Oh Clark...  those dreamy eyes of yours.  Make my heart melt into a pile of mooshy goo!!
Another fave of the day...  the daddy daughter shot!  So sweet!
Rod and I watched the movie "Courageous" last night, I know, we are little behind... oh my goodness, I was crying my eyes out when the one dad took his daughter out for dinner at that fancy restaurant and gave his baby girl a ring and asked her to trust him with her heart...
there is NOTHING like a good daddy!!  NOTHING!

Well the Harris family were good sports, huffin' it through the snow
and I enjoyed every single minute of it!
See you next month, Mr. Clark!!
It has been quite a morning so far...  I woke up with swollen eyes  from all the crying I did last night watching that silly movie.  I got the girls out the door to school and settled in to do my Bible Study.  It started off with an interview, sounded like fun to me, but in the end my little mind was swimming.  My thoughts were whirling around like a twister filled with all sorts of debris, I broke down in tears and had a little out loud discussion with God.  "I just wish you were here with me and could reach out and hold my hand right now."  In my spirit I felt the nudge to grab a daily devotional that I am reading... the verse for the day?  Psalms 73:23  Yet I (me) am always with You (God), You hold me by your right hand.
This is why, I believe...

Family Photographer in Parker, CO

Today, I was scheduled to be with the Cambron family, but we heard rumors about today's weather and pulled it in to yesterday afternoon.  I was worried about the wind and spent most of the day praying for for small wind free window, and the Lord delivered!!  We had absolutely no wind at all!!
This handsome family had travelled all the way from Alaska!  Man, what an awesome place!!  Rod and I took a cruise there for our 5th wedding anniversary it was amazing, best vacation ever!
Of course, we had to get a picture with all the grandkids!  Nathan, Leah, Josiah and Timothy!!  (Oh man, now I am starting to doubt myself, was it Nathaniel? Oh boy... the mind is slipping!!)

I had a good time hangin' with this family all the way from Bennett, CO!!
We used to go out to Bennett for football games when I was in high school, I went to a small private school and our cheerleaders always got made fun of for their cheerleading
skirts that hung below the knee!

Well, the girlies are home today because of the snow, so I am getting bugged about makin' lunch, I guess I better get on it.
Two more shoots this week, so I will see you again soon!!

Newborn Photography in Castle Rock, CO

Ah.... isn't baby Alexia the sweetest little thing you have EVER seen!  My goodness, what a pretty baby and a delight to work with!  I just love those sleepy babies!!

I am such a big fan of Newborn shoots, I just want to stalk pregnant ladies
(that would be bad wouldn't it?!?!?)
That's why I need you to do it for me!!!

Alexia was 1 week old on the day of her shoot!  Which was absolutely perfect.
Mom and Dad were excited to have her picture taken with giant frog, doesn't she look precious all tucked in?!?! I think she would have been quite content to just stay there the rest of the day.

The photo and above and the one below are two of my faves, little Alexia was squirming around, and I just loved her little tongue!  and below I LOVE the contrast of "big strong dad" and the absolutely dependency of a little baby. The "SWEET" in sweetness!

We took a vote and daddy lost... he got the booty!

OH, just look at those little piggies!!!!  YUM!

This is the ONLY time a butt crack is cute and it's SOOOOO CUTE!

So... what is with the snow?!? I thought they said an inch?  Instead I have a house full of restless children!
Hmmm... I will need to come up with a Plan B!
Hugs, Cija

Maternity Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

I just love doing maternity pictures!  I wish I had some from when I was expecting.  I don't even really know why I like them so much but they are on the top of my "favorites" list.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that a baby is COMING SOON!!!
Today, I was at Kerri and Zane's house.  Oh, and the pooch is Maddie (hope I got that spelling right).  It is so fun to get to go into someone's home for a maternity or newborn shoot, a house can say so much about the people that live there. What a beautiful home they have and I loved seeing all the shelves lined with books, I could have spent several minutes just browsing through the titles.  I love books!
Kerri told me that there was some family history and special sentiment to this rocking chair... I wish I had remember to go back and ask for the specifics.  My love for a good story is not limited to book form, the spoken tale is just as interesting.

I loved the way Maddie was staying close and making sure Kerri and her baby were always protected.  This may just be my favorite picture of the day... because of the story it tells.

In between wardrobe changes, Zane pulled out their photo album from their Honeymoon to New Zealand.  Quite frankly, I wanted to curl up on the couch, order a cup of coffee and linger over the breathe taking photos and to hear about all the adventures that surrounded each stunning photo, but... seeings how   I just met them I thought perhaps I might be pushing it!
 * I think this is my number 2 fave of the day.  I just love the outline of Kerri's beautiful profile against her hair... it just oozes with emotion, I love Love LOVE it!
I can't wait to meet this precious baby girl!!  Hugs, Cija
