Baby Photographer in Castle Rock, Colorado

So we scored the halloween costumes today! Phew, feels good to check something off my list and the girls are super excited about their costumes! No... I am not going to spill the beans you will just have to wait until the Halloween Photo Day Post (which, as a reminder is October 23rd from noon - 4:30 or so depending on the light, $10 for the first ghost and $5 for each additional goblin). But back to the reason I am here... little Levi! Isn't he just as cute as a bug on a rug? (actually, I don't get that comment, what's cute about a bug on a rug?!?!) Well, either way this little guy is just too cute! He is proudly showing off his 6 month skills, sitting up AND crawling!! An early bloomer! Levi is another one of my milestone kiddo's so we will see him again in a few months! Well, I am off, I need to finish up my Bible study before tomorrow. Nighty Night! Cija

Sometimes it's just for fun!!

I had soooo much fun on Saturday afternoon! My photo buddy, Juli was coming to town to do some formal bridal portraits for her cousin Carrie. Carrie and her husband Eddie, had their wedding in July, but wanted to has some photos done in the mountains, so they called on Juli to make it happen. Now... how did I get involved? Well, I was at Jenna's (Juli's sister) for coffee one day when she mentioned that Carrie wanted Juli to come take her pictures but that Juli was feeling a little nervous about it. I just about leaped off my chair "I'll HELP!!" and so it was!!
I got to come along, have tons and tons of fun helping and NONE of the pressure! It was perfect! That's obviously, Jui in the green and that's her sister Jenna in the brown.

Ah... it's so nice to see someone else laying in the dirt for a change (I was totally standing for my shot!!)
I think Eddie was a big fan of all the kissing!

Umm.... yes. That IS what she was laughing about, slight problem with Juli's arrow position! So, stinkin' funny!

Now Carrie was a really trooper for climbin' over those rocks the way she did, and I loved her purple shoes!! I wonder if she wore those on her actual wedding day.
So Carrie is doing her residency (I had to ask her who she would be on Grey's Anatomy, I find the whole student, resident, attendee (don't even know if I spelt that one right) thing to be very confusing and Eddie is in Seminary.
Loving the Bling!

We stayed until the sun faded away... it was absolutely beautiful!

What a fabulously fun afternoon!! Followed by dinner with the girls at Hacienda! YUM! Thanks Carrie for letting me tag along and for climbing over those rocks for me!! Thanks Juli, for allowing me shoot with you, I had the best time and hope we can do it again sometime! And thanks Jenna for letting me know about it!!!

Another call to pray...

I never imagined when I started this business that God would trust me with such tender moments along the way. First it was Ellie, 3 years old fighting a rare and aggressive form of cancer, then it was Mike, father of 3 young boys about to start chemo, then Joshua laying in a hospital bed after falling 3 stories from a bedroom window and on Saturday it was Melissa. A brand new mom, only 28 years old fighting her own battle with cancer. I feel so honored to be able to meet these precious people to hear their stories and to lift them before our Father in heaven in silent prayer as I capture this part of their journey on film. It wasn't difficult to relate to Melissa, we are both daughters, wives and moms, and as I caught glimpses of each relationship from behind my lens, I would wonder what it must be like to be in her shoes, walking this road. So, once again, I am asking you to join with me in prayer for Melissa.

Dear Gracious Heavenly Father, Lord thank you for this sweet opportunity to meet Melissa and her family. Lord, I pray that you would be near this family, that you would draw them close to you during this time, that they would see you in a way that they have never seen you before and experience your love in a way they never have before. I pray that you would bring them strength and courage to face the fight ahead and peace and comfort to carry them through. I pray that you would reach down and touch Melissa's body that you would wipe the cancer from every cell in her body and that the miracle of her healing would bring glory and honor to your kingdom. In the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Family Photographer in Castle Rock, Colorado

So Thursday morning I got a call from my darling, precious daughter, Melia. She was at school, crying her little heart out because she never gets to see me anymore... "you are always working." Crush, squeeze, stomp on my little heart, I felt terrible!! So after Bible Study, I grabbed a deck of UNO cards and headed to the school. The girls and I spent their lunch hour in the office playing UNO and reconnecting a bit. Wanting to drive the point home, that I love my baby girl more than anything, she became my photo assistant and joined me on my photoshoot Thursday night. Professional? Probably not, but that it just the way it's gonna be, ain't nothing more precious to me than my family, so if one of my girlies needs a night with their mommy they're gonna get it, even if it means coming to a photo shoot with me. God apparently wanted to bless Melia and I with lots of time to chat because it took us 2 hours to get from our house in Castle Rock to Genesse! Thankfully the Greff's were very understanding that we were 30 minutes late! It was fun to see our friends again and to see how much their kids have grown since last year! I will especially look forward to seeing them again in January for dinner and some Greed!! Well, I am off, the Cooksey's are actually having our family pictures done today! Time to start primping! TTFN! Cija

Children's Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

Happy Friday everyone! Oh I fear I am frightfully behind! (and no... I did not get my Halloween decoration up yet). I was with Erin and her two little cherubs on Tuesday of this week. Oh the eyes on these children just make me melt into a pile of mushy goo! Boy was it HOT! September 28th and it's hot! What is going on around here, I need my 75 degree weather! I hope we don't skip fall altogether and jump right into winter! Hey, somebody just won big on the "Price is Right" (mom's daily routine), and since she can't hear like she used too I can hear it all the way upstairs in my office. Well, I am afraid I can't dawdle there is much to be done (including the need to tidy up downstairs before BUNCO!!), I'm feelin' lucky! I think I'm gonna win big tonight! Be back soon!
