Maternity Photograher in Denver, Colorado

Today I had an in home shoot with Sadie, Doug & Guy (oh... and Gigi!! She is due in November). Okay, can I just say that I love in home shoots for maternity! I just love the personal feel they give the pictures and Sadie was a maniac!! She was up for anything! I love those kinda girls! and guys! One of my favorite moments of the shoot was when we first added Sadie's husband, Doug. He was wearing a "LIVESTRONG" band and because it was yellow and would stand out in the pictures I wanted to check and make sure that he wanted it on during the shoot. While he decided to take it off, Sadie explained that Doug was a cancer SURVIVOR... and just the thought of it made her tear up. It was so sweet to see her deep connection with him how much she loved him (almost made me tear up, but I immediately began counting the flowers on her lampshade to distract me!! at least she can use her pregnancy as an excuse for being so emotional, what excuse was I going to use!)

Ya gotta love a girl who will pose on her kitchen counter!! Sadie you ROCK!

Ah... I just love these type of photos, no pose, nothing stiff just family... being family! Oh, by the way the chick with the pink bow is Chloe!

Okay, I realize that this picture has absolutely nothing to do with Belly shots, but while I was waiting for Sadie to change clothes I spied this really cool shadow from the back door on the wall leading to her basement. I just had to play with it! I love this shot with the swirl on her shoulder! Sadie! You look amazing!
(This was the "tear up" moment I mentioned before. Oh, there I go again!! One, Two, Three, Four, Five...)

Well I can't wait to meet Gigi in person! Check back in November to see her Newborn Shoot! For more information on scheduling your own shoot visit my website www.3wishesphotography.com. Until next time! Cija

Family Photography in Denver, CO

Happy Labor Day! I bet you all have fun things planned for today, so far, we have nothing on the agenda but I want to think of something we can do as a family, so we can spend a little time together. That will be next on my list of things to do! But first, a sneak peek at last night's shoot with Reg and Val! Reg and Val are long time friends of ours from our former church and we spend every New Year's Eve celebrating at their house! You might recognize Brady... we did his Senior pictures just last week, Shannon is their oldest and Brooks falls in the middle. Brooks is a pilot in the Navy and will be deployed soon; Christina his girlfriend serves in the Marines. Shannon was sporting a lovely "Grace Kelly" hair do which was so fitting because to me, I will always think of her as a dancer and Robert, her boyfriend, is just about ready to finish up his training as a aircraft mechanic. Funny story about Robert... Val planned this super fun "Amazing Race" party for Reg. One of the stops was at Starbucks, hmmm... I can't think of the name now but it was the kind of stop where you have to choose one person from your team to complete the task. Rod is not a fan of coffee so I volunteer! But it was a sneaky trap!! Robert was the facilitator of this mystery task... we had to eat 2 chocolate covered BUGS! A grub and a cricket! YUCK!! I'm a teeny tiny bit competitive so I pounded those hummers and we were outta there! Well... since I started this entry on of my peeps have wandered out of their bedrooms, so I am off for a day of family fun! Hugs Cija

Photographer in Castle Rock, Colorado

Last night I had soooo much fun with Tatiana and her mom Claudia! I just love the adventurous types! Ya know, the one's that will give me full license to do whatever I want! Tires, weeds, a laundry mat, you name it we did it. Tatiana was a super great sport and I had the best time shooting with her. Could this girl play the part of Cleopatra or what?!?! Well, I'm gonna keep it short today, spend a few minutes with the hubster before I head out for another shoot tonight. TTFN! Cija www.3wishesphotography.com.

Best of the Best Invitations and Cards

Okay, I know I have said it before, but it worth saying again!! "Something Creative" is the BEST when I comes to cards, invitations and birth announcements!! Seeing these cards on a computer screen just don't do them justice! When you get them they are matted on matching cardstock (I get mine double matted, because they look extra fabulous that way!!) and the printed photos are bright and beautiful!! The pricing is great too! and she offers a discount to 3 Wishes Customers who use their 3 Wishes photos! So double bonus!
I just got these birthday invitations for Ryanne and Sabrina's birthday party. I tell ya, they look so ding dang great I wanna frame 'em and hang 'em on the wall! She matted them in black and either hot pink or blue! So... it got me thinkin', I got tell my customers one more time just how great Jackie is! (Jackie is the artist and creator behind these beautiful creations)
I loved these invites for Melia's Tinkerbell party, Jackie used the gift bags that my mom and her friend, Norma, hand painted for the party as the background for the invitation!

I use Jackie and Something Creative every time I can think of a reason! She has no minimum order, so I can even order a couple of mother's day or father's day cards if I want too! And most of the time it's less expensive than a Hallmark card!! WHAT?! That's CRAZY! but it's true!

Oh... yes, even Thanksgiving!!

And my Christmas Cards are always so much fun!

Okay... I have to admit Halloween is my favorite. I love Halloween, I just can't help it. The parties, the costumes, the kiddos, the candy! Some of my funnest memories of growing up were trick-or-treating with my best friend and all the fun parties.

Okay, that's it! I love Nomelie's Cupcakes and Something Creative's Cards!! So you need to try them both! Jackie's website is http://www.somethingcreative.org/... the best part, she doesn't charge a design fee, so you can have her play with your pictures and there is no obligation! (but you'll never be able to walk away!!)
Well, I am off! There are things to do (grocery shopping) and people to see (my mom, she fell a week ago and fractured her back) and then it's off to a photo shoot! Have a very happy Labor Day!!! http://www.3wishesphotography.com/

The Pig

This is not the typical 3 Wishes blog post, but it occurred to me that this is my blog, it's not just about the pictures I take but about me as the photographer the person behind the camera and this is the place that you will be able to get to know me a little bit better. So... from time to time, I have decided that I will include a blog of a more personal nature. A little picture of my own life, to go with the pictures that I take.
Sadly, I have been in a bad mood for 32 hours and 20 minutes. Just plain old grumpy. No, I don't have a good reason. But alas... I am grumpy. I drove car pool today, and the kids were grumpy too! They bickered about where they wanted to sit and in the end they were just plain old grumpy. Then when we got home there was more grumpiness, so I sent everyone to their rooms for some quiet time (I should have sent myself too!). After about 15 minutes my oldest started to stir and asked if she could play quietly with the things in her room, from time to time she would come out with a report. She was counting her money and she had just over $8! Moments after returning to her room I heard a crash, you know that kind, you can just hear that something has broken in to many pieces. The victim... The Pig! Now a sweet and kind mother would have gone in and comforted their little girl, empathized with her feelings and reassured her that all would be right. But today, I was grumpy mom. Instead, I stood with my hands on hips and demanded to know what she had done to cause such a thing. Seriously Cija? There she sat kneeling on her bedroom floor with her pig shattered in front of her and her cranky mom lecturing her on how she should be more careful. Her little sister tried to step in and be the loving mom and told her that we could always get a new one and not to cry. Cranky mom stepped in again and gave a 101 class on finance and economics. As the careless words pooled out of my mouth, something inside me tried to convince me to reel it in, to shut my mouth and open my arms to hold and comfort my little girl. Instead I reached for the trash can and watched her throw each piece of her pig into the trash. With each "clank" of the pig I felt my crusty crankiness start to fade. It was time to leave for "Back to School Night" and as Melia headed for the door in her room I took a step in the right direction, right into the middle of her path, and held my arms open wide. She wrapped her arms around me and cried. Quietly I muttered, "I'm really sorry about your pig." I took a few minutes to recall a story of how I, too had broke something that was special to me when I was a little girl and apologized for being "Mrs. Cranky Pants". How do your kids do it? How do they fall back into our arms when we have behaved so terribly. I have much to learn from her example.
When we got home it was the usual routine, as we hurried the girls off to bed. Rod went downstairs and I parked myself at the computer to watch the first installment of an online course I am taking. As I sat there, I swear I could hear "The Pig" calling to me from the trash can! So there I sat, listening to my class and picking "The Pig" out of the trash can while Melia slept in her pigless room. One and half super glues and an hour later I had this to show for myself...

Oh it's far from perfect, there's even a few piece missing but Melia will be so happy to have her "Pig" back, safe and sound. It seems that sometimes we can really make a mess out of things but we always have an opportunity to try and make it right.
So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Galations 6:9 NLT
(Hmmm... I would have thought I 'd pick something that made me appear a little more put together to be my first personal blog entry). Oh well, "Say La Vie". Nighty night! Cija http://www.3wishesphotography.com/
