Newborn Photographer in Parker, CO

Seriously??? I mean... seriously????  Does it get any stinkin' cuter than THAT!!!  I don't think so!!
This handsome fellow is Max.  Oh Max, you make my heart melt,  you and your gushable cuteness!!
It's official, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the newbies!!  I love rubbing their little backs and shoushing them back to sleep and moving their little sleepy goushiness from one pose to the next!
They are just so soft and warm (maybe that is why I like Chocolate Chip Cookies so much too?)!!  Max's parents cranked up the heat before I came and Max was
so content and happy sleepin' in his little sauna (Way to go mom and dad!!).

Ah... those little fingers and toes!!  Oh so kibble!  Don'tcha just wanna grab 'em and kiss'em!

We ended our shoot in Max's bedroom.  WHOA! Max's dad is a ROCK STAR!  He painted this amazing mural in his room, I wish I would have had a better lens with me to give you the full impact (but it is supposed to be about the baby!).  I took some more pics of his work but I am saving those for another post with all the juicy details so you can get a mural of your very own!!  Man I wish I could paint!  I took an art class once, I was painting a picture of a plateau at sunset with a howling coyote... 7 weeks I work on that painting and on the last day out of utter frustration I painted the whole canvas red and put great big polka dots on it.  I failed... I've moved on but still, I would love to have that talent!
Well it seems that it's that time... time to pick up the kiddos at school, so I am off!  Enjoy the rest of your day!!  Cija

Baby Photographer in Castle Rock, Colorado

This bundle of cuteness is Keeley, you may remember this cute face from her newborn pictures 3 months back.  Keeley is having each of her baby milestones captured in photos!  So we will see her again at 6, 9 & 12 months (and hopefully beyond that!).  I was worried we might get rained out but the weather managed to cooperate.
It's hard to believe that it is Good Friday, this year is just flying by!  It seems every year I forget about how much I really do love Good Friday, it amazes me that someone loves me so much that they chose to leave the comforts and glory of Heaven to come and suffer on my behalf.
"He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.  He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.  Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised and we esteemed him not.  Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for out transgressions, he was crushed for out iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.  We all, like sheep, have been gone astray each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:2-6
BUT...
then came Sunday!!! Thank you sweet Jesus!!!
Happy Easter Everyone!

Maternity Photography in Castle Rock, CO

I love the picture below, she looks just down right giddy!!

Yesterday afternoon, I met up with this fabulous couple. They are expecting their first baby (a girl) in July.  It was fun to do a maternity shoot outside and we even managed to miss the rain!  Man, I wish I would have thought to get some pictures of me when I was pregnant, all I have is a couple at my baby shower, but I am always holding a cute little outfit up in front of my tummy!  Well, I gotta keep it short today, I'm driving carpool and it just about that time!  I get to see Keeley tomorrow for her 3 month shoot, I'm so excited, she is just too stinkin' cute!! I'll be back soon!  Cija

(Can I just say, I am a little freaked out by the unidentified noise in my garage!!!  sounds like a big old air compressor!)

My Baby is EIGHT!

Can I just say, the picture of me when I was 8 years old looked nothing like these!!  It was taken by the school photographer and my mom set my hair in pin curls the night before!
It's hard to imagine that Melia is turning 8, it really does go too fast, but I love this age, we have long talks and she actually hangs on every word, followed by thoughtful questions.

Last night we were having a pretty heavy conversation, I think I tend to go places that other mom's wait on but all I can do is pray for wisdom and trust God with my heart's intentions.  We made many stops along the way but eventually ended up talking about the two babies that I miscarried before she was born, Carina and Noah.  I cried as I recalled the pain of losing those precious babies and Melia cried right along with me.  Such sweet moments...

Melia is thoughtful, happy and sassy (in a good way) all at the same time.  She inspires me with way she fully lives each emotion!
Happy Birthday sweet girl!  Mommy loves you so much!

Family Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

Tonight I was with the Talley family.  Don works for Youth for Christ and recently returned from a trip to Florida.  He was telling me about one night in particular, he invited the kids to come forward and take a rock that would represent the sin in their lives, as well as a piece of paper to write God a letter and then sent them out to find place alone along the coast to write their letters.

When they heard the music that would signal the time to return to their cabins, but if they were ready to give their lives to Christ he wanted them to shout the word "YES!" and throw their rock into the ocean.

Don watched and listened from above, as the time came, one after another he heard kids shouting "YES!" for Jesus!  I believe he said the number was 57 out of 83 kids made a decision for Christ!  Almost made me cry when he told me the story.  (Side note:  I took Ryanne to see "Soul Surfer" on Friday, afterwards I said "Ryanne, how in the world did you keep from crying during the movie?"  She replied "Well, I was about to cry but then I just sucked it up!"  Man, I love that kid!
These lovely ladies are Madison and Taylor.  A few months back, I was over at a friend's house, it just so happened that Taylor was visiting too while her mom and dad enjoyed a date night.  While showing off her highest karate kick, she took a fall and broke her arm, I don't recall all the details but I do remember that her elbow bone was just floating around in there, attached to nothing.  She had to be taken to Children's Hospital for emergency surgery.  Man, what a brave little girl, I sat with her in the back seat on the way to the first hospital and she never even cried, I guess she sucked it up too! It was good to see her with out her purple cast (it even had sparkles!).

Madison told me that she learned about Dinosaurs at school today, I am just so thrilled that I finally have their names straight!!  Do you think it would look tacky if I had people wear name tags during their shoot?  Hmmm...
(so this picture totally reminds me of the Cooksey's, the girls are all barefoot and dad has his shoes and socks just so!

Man, I really enjoyed my time with this family.  Don always has some great story to tell and Crissie, well... she is just down right inspirational.  What a beautiful picture of Christ she is.  I am not sure I have ever met someone who's heart is bent towards serving others as much as her's is and I was blessed to see her in action.
Well, tomorrow I will be driving for the field trip at school another post AKI first!  I am so excited (provided I have quiet and well behaved children in my car! HA!!)  Until next time... Cija

Happy Monday!  And it is truly happy because... the wind is not blowing!!!  I can not tell you how happy that makes me! Especially since I have a family shoot this evening, wind with one person is okay, but 4?!?  No way!

See... it was super windy during Madeline's 9 month shoot but it really didn't bother us all that much.  Look at those little piggies!!!  I just love 'em!  I am a firm believer in bare piggies!

 So many precious faces...

Isn't it a shame that arms like that are only cute when you are a baby...  She was crackin' me up,
she was loving' the dirt even took a few bites!  Babies are too much fun!
Oh man... I just got a text from my girlfriend their puppy (just a few months old) "Yoda" was hit by a car and didn't make it.  Please be praying for their girls they have had so much heartache over the last several years, I am sure they are struggling with "why?" and desperate for a break.  It comforts me to know that even a man like John the Baptist was confused and wondered what God was up to or not up to sometimes, like when he was in prison and he sent his disciples to see Jesus.  "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"  At one time he was so sure, he even saw a dove descend out of heaven but now he was thinking maybe he was wrong.  I love that Jesus doesn't get frustrated with John, He offers reassurance and tells Him that those who remain faithful in spite of what He does or doesn't do will be blessed.  We certainly do not understand the mysteries of God,  I am praying for all the heavy hearts today.  May you feel the loving arms of Christ hold you tight while you cry.  Blessings Cija
