Prom Photos

I had the pleasure of taking some prom photos this past weekend. I woke up the morning to clear blue skies and no wind!! But by 6:00PM the wind was howling and the air was so filled with dirt and smoke it was just gross outside. So, at the last minute we had to come up with a new plan and a new location.  We even managed to get some pics outside, if you were patient you would have split seconds of calm! I really love working with this age group!

A Mountain Reception

So here's something a little different than my norm.   Saturday night Rod and I headed for Morrison to lurk in the background and take some photos of this super beautiful reception for Allycia & Derik.
Allycia & Derik were married a few weeks ago in a courthouse wedding, this amazing event was an opportunity for all those that love them to come and celebrate their marriage.

There were tons of fun things to do!  Board games, frisbee, that bean bag game (the name escapes me) and legos on every table!

And every great party needs some great food and WOW! was this food fantastic! I believe the caterers name was HolySmokers.  Check 'em out, it was seriously good.

 Jenga any one???

 Some pretty talented Lego-ers!

 The happy couple!!
Such a beautiful night, Derik & Allycia should feel very loved.

Sweet 16!!

Last night the girls and I were out partying!!  Mid January means "Abby's Birthday" and this year was her Sweet 16!!  Her family planned a fun event to celebrate.  The theme was a Masquerade!  First there was a sit down dinner for family and close friends, followed by a dance with all of Abby's friends.
The highlight of the evening was Abby's new car!!  I gift from her Grandma, Great Grandparents and Uncle.  She was very excited and completely surprised!!
Ofcourse, Ann did a fabulous job on the decor... it was absolutely beautiful!
This is Abby with the Car Givers!!

Yep, those are my cherubs, they had a great time dancing and hanging out with the teenagers!!
I got to be honest it took a while to get these teens to actually dance, but eventually they got with the program.
Two of Abby's cousins, Harmony and Lilly
Oh Melia...  you make my little heart melt.
(now you may be saying, where is Sabrina... running at speeds to great to catch on film!!!)
Ryan and Faith's family win my award for  best dressed family of the night, they were all sportin' their best duds and fabulous masks!!
And one last picture of my girls with their "party" on!!
Happy Birthday Abby!!

60 Years!!! That's AMAZING!

This is Grandma and Grandpa... or less commonly known as Delbert & Virginia.  Oh their not my grandma and grandpa, but that doesn't matter, I still call them Grandma and Grandpa!  On the 4th of July, we had the honor of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with them!  Sixty Years, well Praise the Lord!  That's a long, long time!
The party was at Ann's house and as usual she did it up "real nice, real real nice" (insert southern twangy accent please).  The decor was stunning and dripping in diamonds and shimmer!  She has a knack!  A very big giant sized knack!
Even with the giant tent, it was HOT!  Cija was melting, but we all know how Cija feels about the heat so we will move on.

Andy was mannin' the BBQ, complete with rainbow umbrella and cowboy hat (and yes, Ann had a disparaging comment about the hat!! So of course, that meant I needed to document it forever and ever!)

It really was a lovely celebration of a commitment that has stood the test of time.  I asked Grandma 3 separate times what her secret for a long marriage was.  The 1st two times, bystanders answered for her... but I was finally able to corner her and get her own answer "I just told him like it is, and if he didn't like what I had to say that was his problem not mine."  I love it!

One "Special" Event

Last night I went over to Diane's house for One "Special" Event celebrating her daughter's recent marriage to Wayne, her 30th birthday and a send off as Lindsey and Wayne move out of the country to England!!
Diane is obviously my kinda gal!!  All the little details were to die for!!  Vibrant colors and special touches in every direction!
The happy couple and I snuck off for a couple of minutes to snap a few pictures of just the two of them.
And get a look at the food!!!  Almost too pretty to eat! (A little shout out to Sandy and Kate from "As You Like It" the caterers for the evenings event!)

All in all it was a lovely way to spend the evening!  Best wishes to Lindsey and Wayne!!
It's gonna be a busy week, so check back often to see what I have been up too!!!
For now, I am off to the grocery store and then off for my first Senior shoot of the season!
