Family Photographer in Parker, CO

Yep, its' Sunday night and I am working... Rod is watching football and the girls are all taking showers so I thought "why not."  I will be one step ahead tomorrow.
So... Friday night the girls went to a slumber party and before "date  night" with the hubby, I snuck out for a family shoot with the Davis Family.
Man oh man, it could not have been a more beautiful night for pictures! Beautiful sunlight streaming thru the trees but not HOT!  We all know Cija likes that! Especially when there is a date on the other end of the shoot!
These would be their fabulous children, Andelynn (remember we did Senior pics last summer?!?) and Caiden (hopefully I spelled that right!) He reminds me of someone famous... now who is it?!?  Come on folks give a girl a little help.
 Awwww.... LOVE

I had a lovely time on their shoot it is always fun working with friends
(did I mention we go to church together?!)

Well... I trust you all had a fabulous weekend.  Ours was not to shabby.
Rod and I enjoyed dinner out at J. Alexanders and watched the very suspenseful movie "The Call"... we had to watch the an episode of "Man vs. Wild" to calm down before we could go to sleep.
(Yes... we are wimps!)
Saturday we went the the Natural History Museum with BC tours which was very informative and then put the girls to bed early because they were up until
3:00 AM at the slumber party I mentioned earlier!! And today was church, changing the loft into a craft room for the girlies and dinner at Freddy's! (which was a bonus cuz I was supposed to do a rescheduled  weather shoot tonight, but the weather forced another reschedule!)

For  now... I am calling it a night, gonna find a spot next to  Rod on the couch and settle in for some down time!!

Oh and by the way, this building is a historic landmark.  Back in the 1930's the famous outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde hide out in this building during a shoot out with police after robbing a bank!
Actually... no, I made that up for Kashia benefit!
 Okay!! Later!

High School Seniors in Castle Pines, CO

I am not going to lie... I am stomach flu phobic!  Too the point, where I am the world's worst mother for any child who has the stomach flu!!

Poor Melia came home sick yesterday and the minute I was able to identify that it was indeed the stomach flu she was put on "leper" status... I come just short of making her shout "unclean! unclean!" when she enters a room. Now, I know you are all thinking... "Oh that Cija, she's always exaggerating!"
Sadly, I am not... most mom's (including my own) hold their child's hair back while they... well, you know!  But, no not me!  I stand in the door way Lysol can in the ready position!  And there is absolutely no touching of any kind until a full 24 hours after the last... you know!!
Our encounter with this nasty bug forced yet another reschedule last night!!  BOO!!
But this morning I made it out to meet Alex and his mom, Julie.  And get a load of this!!
Very first time working with this family and Julie brings me a WARM loaf of Banana bread!
Say WHAT? It is just about gone now... Ryanne and Sabrina were very happy when they got home.

So Alex is a Senior at Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch, where he plays the trumpet (oh yes, there are trumpet pictures complete with his tuxedo!!).  Next year he plans to go to Adam's College and study finance.  He has been buying stocks since he was 11.  Ummm... I have never  bought a stock, unless the chicken or beef variety count!
What a B E _YOU_ tiful morning!!!  The sun was shiny and the sky was bright blue, absolutely stunning!!  But by the time I was in the car driving home...  overcast!
We truly do have the weirdest weather!
So I will give you 3 guesses... what is Alex passionate about ?
MOUNTAIN BIKING!!
So much in fact he had me take several pictures of just his bike!
Fun times!
Oh!  Before I sign off and make dinner... Rod and I got our pictures done yesterday morning.  I was a nervous wreck on the way there, my deepest and most sincere apologizes if any of you ever feel like that when coming to get your pictures done!!  But, while I have not seen the pics the experience was a good one.  My husband was a ROCK STAR!  Go ahead, ask Brian, he'll tell ya!  I am excited to see the final product and to have some photos to remember this time in our marriage.
Here's to 20 more years!!
Okay... dinner!

Family Photographer in Castle Rock, CO

Last night I was finally able to get back out there and start shooting again, all the rain last week forced reschedules for everyday but Monday!  And last night I was with the Hart family! One of my faves!

And we  finally broke the 3 year curse of freezing cold weather!!!
I thought it might be fun to take a walk down memory lane...
This was the very first time I worked with this fabulous family all the way back in 2009!
By the time next year rolled around, there was a new addition!
And while it wasn't freezing there were gale force winds this particular year.
2011 and 2012 however were probably two of the coldest shoots I have on record, and just look them, such pros you can't even tell!!
But this year the weather was positively perfect!!!

It's always fun when you work with a family year after year.  Sidney was all about having her pictures taken this year!!

And Blake's voice was an octave deeper this year!
It really was a great shoot!!  Looking forward to next!!

Well, it is time to call it a night and head off to bed.  Rod and I are actually having our pictures taken in the morning!!  YIKES! What in heaven's name was I thinking???  I was inspired by a friend who recently went to Spain for her 20th wedding anniversary and had some great shots of her and her husband taken... we can't go to Spain but we can do pictures!  So wish us luck!

I will be back several times this week so I will see you again soon!!

Nighty Night!

Baby Photographer in Castle Pines, CO

Just droppin' in to share another sneak peek with you... the weather this week has forced several reschedules which is a bummer but I am getting caught up on some editing so that is the silver lining of my little rain clouds!

So... this extremely good looking fellow is Cameron and I am truly head over heels in love with his chubbylishousness!!!
Oh my mercy, him is 7 shades of cuteness!!
and he was simply fabulous... an extreme superstar!!  Easy peasy lemon squeezey!!
And the super good news is... I get to see him again in just a few weeks at his family shoot!
Okay, homework, dinner and volleyball practice are all calling my name!   I will see you again either Friday, if I can shoot tomorrow or next week!! TTFN!

Family Photographer in Castle Pines, CO

So... we already know (or at least you Facebook fans already know) that this picture of Avalon was my favorite from my shoot with the Honore family on Saturday night,
but here are just a few more to pour over.
Oh... and this would be my second favorite!!
I had a particularly good time at this shoot because Rod was able to join me!  We had a unique opportunity to have the whole day with out kids and were excited to spend every minute of it together!
So he came along and happily carried a chair that we barely even used and even provide a bit of sun block when I needed it.
After our shoot we headed over to the shooting range in hopes that we could "shoot"!
But unfortunately they close at 7:00 BOO!  Next we tried the movie theater, but didn't even recognize any titles so we opted for dinner out and a movie at home.  It was pretty much a perfect day.
Braxton was sportin' his farm gear... apparently his Grandpa has a farm and his favorite thing to do it drive the combines and the tractors! (Fun to think, Braxton and I have combine driving in common... yep! you read that right, I have some combine driving experience in my background!)

My point of view  vs. Adam's point of view!

Oh my goodness!!! Look at the time!  I must go get dinner on!!
Thanks Daphne, for letting me hang with your family again!!!
