The light rail station is a fun location option and Sara was looking for a location a bit further north for this year's shoot. 

 

I can't get over how much Ethan has grow up since our first shoot together which was his newborn session!

My favorite spot to take photos at the light rail is on the bridge that crosses over the highway. I love the lighting in here and the vertical and horizontal lines. I'd do the whole shoot up here if I thought I could get away with it!

And of course, we had to do some of Sara too!

PHOTOGRAPHER'S TIP

This stairway is nothing special but I knew the contrast between the low light in the background and the natural light coming from behind the camera would be perfect for highlighting the family and a dark and moody way. Be sure to expose for your client's face. Be especially careful to watch your highlights, over exposing this image would ruin the vibe!

Castle Rock Senior Photographer

I met up with Connor on Wednesday evening for a quick senior shoot, the freezer at Target was waiting for him!! While Connor knows he plans to attend college, he hasn't decided where he would like to go or what he would like to study, but there is plenty of time for that! His vibrant  personality and contagious smile is sure to take him far.  I hope you have a GREAT senior year, Connor!

Castle Rock Colorado High School Photographer

 It's a time for a quick little peek at some of my favorites from Seth's senior session. You can't tell from these photos but the wind!! So much wind!! Seth is a 2025 as Highland's Ranch High School. Not sure where he plans to attend college but we do know it will be out of state and that he will be studying sports data and analytics, bringing his appreciation for math and sports together! I hope you have a great senior year, Seth! 

PHOTOGRAPHER'S TIPS

Personally, I am not a fan of fill flash. It's just a personal taste thing, so if you like it by all means fill flash away. BUT! I do love a beautiful sky and Colorado is so good at it. So after you take your photo, flip your camera into manual focus (so that it won't refocus) and have your subject step out of the frame, then expose for the sky. In edit, crop your sky photo to just be sky. Then in photoshop use "place embedded..." to add the sky to the image of your subject. Add a layer mask, use the gradient tool to blend the sky with background.
